Reflective Narrative
This course helped me fulfill MLO 2, language and linguistics knowledge. The last grammar class I took was in Hartnell College, and it was not as intense as this one. I had an idea of what the class would be about, but did not know how difficult it would be. In this course we studied a variety of different things related to our writing skills. The professor started the class reviewing linguistics, which has been the most difficult class I have ever taken in college. Then we began looking at commas, accents, periods, etc. Now that was not very hard because throughout my education I have been writing a lot. What was difficult was to write about the topics that the professor assigned. I had to write essays on the different types of writings, and some of the topics were not of my interest. In this course we also had the opportunity to translate short documents, this was my favorite part of the course. At the end of the semester, we had to prepare a debate, which was more like a presentation than a debate. Some of the topics that the professor choose were very controversial and those groups had a lot to say. Unfortunately, the topic that my group got was not controversial, so we did not enjoy as much as other groups did. As a future Spanish teacher, I am aware of the importance of grammar. I hope to expand my knowledge a bit more by continue reading and practicing to write better.
