Courses and Reflection
SPAN 301: Composition and Oral Practice
SPAN 302: History and Phonetic Structure Spanish Language
Through the two courses mentioned above, I was able to understand the formations of the Spanish language sounds and improve my grammatical skills. I had previously taken grammar classes in Hartnell College, so I had an idea of how this course would be. Since I had an idea of the structure of the class, sometimes it was a bit boring to be there. I did learn new material though, which I know it is very important for my future career as a Spanish teacher. The hardest class I took at CSUMB was linguistics. At the beginning of the semester I had no idea of anything related to linguistics, by the end of the course I had a very good understanding of it. Although it was very complex, I really enjoyed the class because I like to be challenged. Linguistics is like learning a whole new language, something I thought was amazing. By learning about linguistics, I learned how easier it would be for students to learn another language if they are taught linguistics in the new language for linguistics brakes language apart and it is easier to understand it. At the end of the course I was able to understand the formation of the sounds we make that become words.
